As they say, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet," but does the word fake really mean the same thing as faux? According to Merriam-Webster the word fake means, "not true, real, or genuine." Faux, on the other hand is defined as an imitation of the genuine thing. The origin of the word faux is French and it means false or can sometimes be defined as fake; however, according to Merriam-Webster, "faux is the French word for fake, but it's a very chic fake"! At Imagination Millwork we believe our windows are a very chic fake exterior window and justly earn the title of faux.
